Claddings for

Alexander McQueen Store

The 2,600 sqft, high-ceilinged Alexander McQUEEN store in the Dubai Mall is the second store with a new strong and experimental concept that will be rolled out around the world. The design concept conceived by the brand’s creative director Sarah Burton in collaboration with the architect Smiljan Radic.

A new cladding – ‘cotton-crete’, a cotton-based concrete – has been developed together with PCT. It appears in white, in panels alongside the wood, and in black, cladding the façade of the store which is otherwise full-height glass. The eight-metre-high shopfront sets the tone for a space that feels organic and inviting.

PCT made for the project a total of 82 panels of cotton-crete ceiling panels in white and 32 panels of wall façade in UHPC black color, all panels 1.5m x 2.1m and 22 mm thickness. The production time was 1 month from start to delivery. Followingly PCT has been commissioned to deliver more panels for a new store in Kuwait where we sent a total of 44 panels of similar sizes.
