Melges Performance Sailboats are well-known worldwide for performance, high-quality boats and premium customer service and support. Designed by Botin Partners Naval Architecture and built by Premier Composite Technologies, the Melges 40 will RE-Volutionalize one-design racing. The Melges 40 is a strict, one-design weapon for windward/leeward, in-shore and coastal racing.

Fresh off the design line, the Melges 40 features a new ownership concept for a one-design racing Class that promotes and strengthens a unique sailing/racing experience.

The structure is fully optimized for minimum weight and maximum stiffness. State-of-the-art FEA design tools have been utilized to optimize the layouts, laminate specs and details, designed and built in accordance to ISO structural regulations to Class B with plan approval by Germanischer Lloyd Weight is constantly monitored and recorded by the build team throughout the build process composite female tooling milled utilizing 5 axis CNC machine in order to govern the minimum tolerance for a strict one design class.

The hull, deck & internals are constructed from epoxy infused carbon fibre and foam core. Cariboni designed and engineered canting keel system with single ram with double acting cylinder and twin rudder with carbon tiller. The keel and foil package ist CFD optimized and all foils constructed of carbon composites.
