Solar Power at PCT 5
PCT5 is running partially on renewable energy. A total area of 1,327.5 m2 made up of 816 PV panels have been fitted on the roof that generate energy required to run the facility. The system is estimated to generate savings of approximately 50% of total electrical consumption of PCT-5. Factories in general have a higher carbon footprint when compared to households or other commercial buildings. Generating electricity through this system means avoiding the injection of about 190 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere if the same amount of electricity is produced using conventional methods.
