Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi is one of the world’s largest mosques, and the only one that captures unique interactions between Islam and world cultures. Sheikh Zayed's vision was to incorporate architectural styles from different Muslim civilizations and celebrate cultural diversity.

PCT was commissioned to produce a number of interior structures including a Minbar, Imam's chair, Interior Niche panels and 44 Koran bookshelves. All of the structures were created out of solid black American walnut with hand-cut and hand-laid Mother of Pearl and Silver inlay works. The intricate nature of the work required specialist craftsmen including 15 Moroccan wood crafters, 6 Indian Mother-of-Pearl specialists and 60 production staff, 70 Mother of Pearl crafters from Cebu Island hand cut and hand inlaid all the Mother-of-Pearl for the 44 Niche Interior Panels and the Minbar.
